Archisinal Pitch At CBC Berlin 2023

August 29, 2023

The intersection of Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT) and Architecture, Engineering and Construction is currently a niche area of expertise. The Construction Blockchain Consortium (CBC), a leading initiative based at University College London is pioneering conversation and research surrounding the integration of transformative technologies such as Blockchain, the Internet of Things (IoT), Virtual Environments (VE), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Building Information Modelling (BIM) into the construction industry. As an open and impartial platform, the CBC exemplifies a commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration across these technological domains.

Find out more about the Mission Statement of CBC here.

In this blog post, we will articulate The CBC’s strategic value proposition and its role in facilitating the digital transformation of the construction sector. The consortium’s efforts are concentrated on leveraging these advanced technologies to create substantial cultural, behavioural, and fiscal improvements within the industry. This initiative not only aims to enhance operational efficiencies but also to reduce costs significantly through improved legal, procurement, and supply chain processes.

The key areas of focus for the CBC are as follows:

  1. Legal and Financing: Innovations in blockchain are applied to streamline dispute resolutions and financial transactions, reducing the reliance on traditional legal proceedings and lowering associated costs.
  2. Design and Construction Processes: The CBC aims to bridge the gap between design and construction phases, promoting transparency and trust across the supply chain through reliable data management and enhanced collaboration tools.
  3. Operations and Building Services: By integrating IoT with blockchain technology, the CBC enhances the lifecycle management of building assets, ensuring that operations are more sustainable and efficiently managed.
  4. Culture, Compliance, and Policy: The consortium addresses the industry’s regulatory and compliance landscape by facilitating a shift towards more open and accountable practices, which in turn fosters a more collaborative and innovative industry culture.

In August 2023, the Archisinal team arrived at the Forum Digitale Technologien in Berlin, Germany, to deliver a presentation titled Delivering Data Democratization and Arbitration Transparency In the AEC Sector. Check out the presentation below:

The relationship between Archisinal and groups like the Construction Blockchain Consortium (CBC) is essential for advancing our shared vision of a digitally transformed construction industry. Archisinal, with its robust focus on blockchain technology, aligns seamlessly with the CBC’s initiatives, leveraging collective expertise to further enhance the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) sector. Our collaboration ensures that we stay at the cutting edge of technology, fostering innovations that can scale across global markets.

Archisinal’s North Star vision is to revolutionise the construction industry by creating a transparent, accountable, and efficient construction ecosystem through our blockchain-based platform. This vision encompasses a comprehensive data dashboard and validation system that standardises project data and provides an immutable record of all project activities. Such a system not only enhances project efficiency but also significantly reduces time and costs associated with non-optimal practices, which are prevalent in the industry today.

By collaborating with the CBC faculty and community, Archisinal taps into a broader network of research, development, and implementation strategies that accelerate the adoption of blockchain across the construction industry. Working with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in the space enriches our platform’s capabilities, enabling us to integrate the latest in legal and financing frameworks, smart contract applications, and IoT innovations. The value proposition of this relationship lies in the synergistic potential to drive widespread adoption and standardisation, making blockchain an integral part of the future construction landscape. Through this alliance, Archisinal moves closer to realising its vision of a fair, transparent, and seamlessly managed construction process, setting new benchmarks for the industry at large.
