On Friday 9th March, Archisinal hosted the maiden community meet-up in Lima, Peru.
Collaborating with a well-known Peruvian AI architect, Archisinal invited speakers from both the AEC and Web3 community to come together and discuss the intersection of deep-tech and the built environment. With over 50 guests in attendance, the evening hosted topics ranging from the challenges of AI in architecture, the possible use cases of blockchain technology in AEC and how token based decision making can be used to drive a fair and transparent ecosystem.
Kevin Abanto is a graduate of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the Ricardo Palma University. Kevin is currently working in curatorship, education, research & design for the metaverse, web3, NFTs andblockchain technology. Involved in exploring new media design, integrating artificial intelligence, film, anime, languages and music with a connection between emerging technologies, theory, politics and philosophy. Kevin has four years of professional experience in international project development, competitions & exhibitions in design, art, architecture & design.
Kevin is the Founding Director of the Shadi School of Research & Advanced Design, which integrates; science, technology, music, cinema and photography. The focus of the studio is developing workshops based on; films, documentaries, novels, reviews & theories, fostering critical thinking and expanding the panorama of design & research integrating new technologies for the development of projects. Kevin has obtained an honorary distinction from his university and has been invited from the Dean of the faculty to participate in teaching proposals and education.
Kevin's main focus is to collaborate on projects of; architecture, exhibitions & competitions (in both organisation and participation). He is the Curator at the URP Design Studio Exhibition 1 & 2. Kevin has participated as a juror at the NFT Design Awards in Colombia. Among his most notable collaborations are with; United Nations, Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Royal Institute of Great Britain, NFT NYC, NFT London, Art Basel, Daily Silicon Valley, BBC Radio, Fashion Weeks (London, Los Angeles, Moldova) London Design Festival, Venice Architecture Biennale, in addition to other magazines and important events.
